NO MORE WATER BILLS FROM WUC
Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) has announced the rollout of its Smart Prepaid Water Metering Solution
(SPWMS) Project in select areas, a significant initiative designed to enhance efficiency, customer experience, and water security.
This innovative program aims to improve water management and empower customers with greater control over their water usage by requiring customers to first recharge their accounts to enjoy water services.
The smart prepaid water meter roll out is expected to take up to six (6) months within select areas commencing 22 July 2024, followed by a twelve- month Defects Liability Period. The project targets both domestic and business customer accounts within Gaborone and the Greater Gaborone area. The Corporation has contracted three reputable suppliers
to execute the project across designated areas:
Customers within these designated areas will receive a three- month grace period to settle any outstanding balances from the date of meter installation. After three months, all recharge amounts will be used to settle any remaining outstanding balance.
To ensure a smooth experience, WUC will provide comprehensive training on using the WUC app for recharging account during the meter installation process.
The rollout will start in Gaborone, Mogoditshane, Mmopane, Metsimotlhabe, Gabane, Kumakwane, Mmokolodi,Tloaneng, Tlokweng, Ramotswa, Ramotswa Station/ Taung, Mogobane and Otse.
